Terms & Conditions for Participants
These terms and conditions (the “Agreement”) describe your rights and responsibilities with respect to your participation in a virtual event (“the event”) hosted by the International Transformative Learning Association (the “ITLA” or “Organizer”). By registering for the event you agree to these terms, which constitute a binding legal agreement between the ITLA and the registered attendee or participant (“you” or “Participant”).
1. Participant Grants, Rights and Responsibilities
a. Your registration entitles you to admission to the event for which you have registered, which is being conducted virtually. Admission includes access to the virtual platform(s) utilized by ITLA to deliver the event to participants. The event shall be recorded by ITLA and will be accessible to you for a limited period of time following the conclusion of the event.
b. Registrations are non-transferrable and may not be substituted. By registering for the event you agree not to sell, trade, transfer, or otherwise share your access link and/or code for the event. If ITLA determines that you have violated this policy, ITLA may cancel your registration and limit or prohibit your access to the event, retain any payments made by you, and ban you from future ITLA events.
c. ITLA reserves the right to remove you from the event if ITLA, in its sole discretion, determines that your participation or behavior creates a disruption or otherwise hinders or interferes with the event or the enjoyment of the event by other Participants.
d. In the course of participating in the event, your name and likeness may, either intentionally or inadvertently, be captured in digital media such as audio and video. You hereby acknowledge and agree to grant the ITLA the right to record, live stream, or otherwise capture your likeness in any media and to use, distribute, broadcast, or otherwise disseminate, globally and in perpetuity, such media without any further authorization from you or any compensation to you. This grant to the ITLA includes, but is not limited to, the right to edit such media, the right to use the media alone or together with other media and information, and the right to allow others to use or disseminate the media.
2. The Event Content
a. The Event Content, including but not limited to the event name, themes, content, program, speakers, presenters, venue, date and time, is subject to change at the sole discretion of ITLA.
b. Participants may not record, livestream, or otherwise broadcast audio or video of the event, including but not limited to live and pre-recorded sessions, presentations, and other Event Content. Screenshots and like media created by Participant using personal computers, smart phones, cameras and other recording devices shall be limited to personal use only and may not be distributed to others without the express written consent of ITLA.
3. Registration Fees and Confirmation
a. Payment of the applicable fee for the event is due upon registration. If such payment is insufficient or declined for any reason, ITLA may limit or refuse to allow you to access the event and shall have no liability in that regard.
b. Confirmation of your registration will be sent to the email address provided on your registration form once your registration is complete.
4. Cancellation and Refunds
All sales are final and no refunds shall be given.
5. Event Communications
a. Important information regarding your attendance and participation in the event will be sent to the email address provided on your registration form. Please be sure to check your junk email box in case any of your event email(s) are caught by spam filters.
b. Additionally, you will also be added to the event participant list for notifications of future ITLA events. If you would like to opt-out of these communications, a link is included in each email to provide the ability to opt-out.
6. Your Privacy Is Important to Us
This Agreement incorporates herein by reference the policies and procedures described in the Privacy Policy set forth and viewable here: https://www.intertla.org/privacy-policy/.
ITLA collects and uses the information you provide in your registration for the purpose of providing you access to the event, communicating with you about your attendance at and participation in the event, and to share information with you about ITLA and its offerings. We will never sell or rent your personal data to third parties without your opt-in consent.
7. Intellectual Property
All Event Content and material distributed at or in connection with the event are the intellectual property of ITLA, or the sponsors or speakers presenting at the event. You may not use, reproduce or distribute, or allow anyone else to use, reproduce or distribute any materials distributed at or in connection with the event for any reason without the express prior written permission of ITLA and its affiliates.
8. Limitation of Liability; Release from Liability
a. Except as required by law, neither ITLA nor its officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives and successors shall be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential costs, damages or losses arising directly or indirectly from the event or otherwise in connection with this Agreement or Participant’s participation in the event.
b. If ITLA is prevented from performing its obligations pertaining to the event because of an unforeseen communications or computer software or hardware services issue with the virtual platform hosting the event, or as a result of any other cause beyond its control, including but not limited to labor disturbances, accidents, government restrictions, acts of war or terrorism, civil disorder, natural disaster, epidemic or pandemic, acts of God, or any other comparable casualty or condition (collectively, “Force Majeure”), ITLA shall have the right to immediately terminate the event without liability and shall be relieved of its obligations to you.
c. The maximum aggregate liability of ITLA for any claim in any way connected with, or arising from, the event or this Agreement, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise (including any negligent act or omission), shall be limited to the amount paid by you to ITLA under this Agreement.
